What a (two) Week(s)!
I’m completely exhausted, there’s really no other way to put this. Classes started up again last Monday and I feel like I haven’t stopped moving since then. I was pretty excited for this quarter, since I don’t have classes on Tuesday and Thursday - but I’ve had so much to do that I really haven’t had a chance to sleep in. Not to mention, I work 9:30pm - midnight two nights a week, and being away from my room for that long kills me.
On top of that, I feel like I’m constantly surrounded by stupid people. I’m a member of a sorority here at school, and it’s a lot of good times. It’s helped me out a ton with the person I am today; I’ve learned a lot about leadership, teamwork, communication, as well as had the chance to take part in some amazing community service projects and meet some fabulous ladies. But sometimes - just sometimes, it’s bad. Last night we were having a little St. Patrick’s Day fun, and one of my sisters got a lot out of hand. Long story short she drove home when she shouldn’t have and ended up in a car accident (a small one, but still it could have been avoided). So far our Campus Officers haven’t filed a report, but I’m really irritated. For all the stereotypes that Greeks put up with — and one of our Executive Board members has to perpetuate it. I’m not even really sure what to say about how I feel about it: stressed, angry, disappointed. This is something that we could loose our right to function as a sorority for, it’s just… bad.
I think I just need a break from life — maybe I’ll do a little video game action when I get out of work later. That’d be a nice change of pace. Yeah…
I put this neat eye layout back up until I can figure out the comments on my layout. I can’t log in through FTP right now… so I’m going to wait and see if that sorts itself out anytime soon.
The Layout!
I finally made a layout! Recently I’ve been watching Full Metal Alchemist and I really like the story surrounding the homunculi characters. I really wanted to make a layout based on all seven of the homunculi, but I couldn’t find any good pictures — and I didn’t want to spoil anything with my layout. So I chose Wrath (he’s kind of my favorite) to star in this layout. My favorite part of this layout is the font called aftershock debris and my Ouroboros brush.
On to other things. I’m currently at the end of week 10 (out of 10) of winter quarter here at school. It’s been stressful and I’m currently fighting a few failing grades with the dean of my college due to my mono and strep combination (which sucks). Next week is finals week, but I don’t have a whole lot to do. I have to upgrade a website using new technologies we learned in my web design class, give two presentations and write one paper. Nothing I can’t handle!
I currently have a list of projects I’d like to start working on reviving and creating. I’ve listed them on the sidebar. I’m staying at school over the break, but I don’t have much going on… so hopefully I’ll have some time to work on them and get at least a few ready to be hosted. However, I also have to finish updating my sororities site as well as do the website for the college panhellenic council here (which is a council comprised of the sororities on this campus so that we can work together and such). So much for a restful break, haha.
PS: Comments aren’t working, not sure why. Will look at it tomorrow.
Rising from the Ashes
After several years being out of the website community, I’ve decided to come back! Eventually, I’m hoping to renew my old domain which has been gone for some time now; but for now I’m going to start back in with a blog. For right now I’ve got a simple little layout that I downloaded from the wordpress theme viewer; as I don’t have time in the next week to make a good layout from scratch.
I’m a junior in college and today marks the beginning of week 10 of our quarter system (instead of semesters, we have three quarters a year with 10 weeks and a finals week a piece); and for anyone not familiar with the quarter system that means it’s ridiculously hectic. Unfortunately for me, I’m just getting over a two week fight against both strep throat and mono — so I’m a little behind.
That said, I don’t have too much time to blog right now; but I wanted to get a site up and running as soon as possible. I’ll be posting a little bit in the next few days and within the month hope to have a great layout with some personal information and updates.
And before I go a special thanks to Megan of niamhmeNET for agreeing to host me! :)
